Coming Soon: Memento Mori Tee
Inspired by the Capuchin Crypt beneath Santa Maria della Concezione dei Cappuccini in Rome, this tee tells the story of a friar surrounded by bones. A visual reminder of Memento Mori: remember you must die.
The crypt holds the remains of over 3,700 Capuchin friars, arranged to reflect mortality, faith, and the passing of earthly life. The bees reference Pope Urban VIII Barberini, whose family emblem marked Rome during this period, a symbol of power set against the reminder that even power fades.
Historical Note: Historically grounded and based on real references from the Capuchin Crypt in Rome. The friar image, Memento Mori theme, Barberini bees, and Urban VIII connection are all tied to the crypt’s historical setting.
